Practical information for doctors
In the context of prescribing acts and services of Masseurs-Physiotherapists, the prescribing doctor exclusively uses the standardized prescription " Medical prescription: Physiotherapy ", as provided for in technical appendix " A " of the specifications of the agreement between the CNS and the Association of Doctors and Dentists .

In the context of the digitalization of services , paper prescriptions should disappear during 2026. To this end, the CNS (in collaboration with the AMMD) has developed a digital prescription:

To remember:
- Physiotherapy prescriptions are valid for 31 days. It is the physiotherapist's responsibility to send the prescription to the CNS electronically in order to benefit from the third-party payment system.
- any modification or deletion on a prescription must be invalidated by the signature/stamp of the prescribing doctor.
- physiotherapy treatment for common pathology can be carried out over a maximum period of 3 months.
- physiotherapy treatment for serious illness can be carried out over a maximum period of 1 year.
- Post-operative treatment can only be prescribed for an intervention on the musculoskeletal system and within a maximum period of 4 months.
- an assessment and rehabilitation must be prescribed by two different prescriptions .
